Our family was privileged to join Mar y Aventuras on a Magdalena Bay whale watching trip! We all loved it & the kids (age 3, 6 and 9 years) wanted to turn around at the airport so we could stay longer in Baja! The crew and guides are wonderful! They are knowledgeable, welcoming & warm and quickly became friends. The food is great & lodging is comfortable. Stay at Posada Luna Sol for easy departures and arrivals. If you follow the packing list provided you will have everything you need. As our trip approached, we received timely e-mail reminders and any questions were fully and promptly answered. New website is great & we are already planning a return trip! Thanks for a wonderful adventure!

I just wanted to say thank you for hiring such great crew members who led our Espiritu Santo Island Quick Getaway experience in January. I can’t say enough good things about the entire crew who were beyond friendly, courteous, encouraging, entertaining and all around fun. We left a sizable gratuity for the crew but wanted to follow up with a personal note of gratitude and acknowledgement for especially Hugo, Marcos and Captain Angel Leon. Both Hugo and Marcos provide a wealth of information and I for one really enjoy the educational aspects of an active adventure like this. These two are not only fun to be with, but they are inspiring and really rounded out the experience for us with their deep knowledge of the area and their passion for the conservation of the Baja. Captain Angel did a great job keeping us safe on the water and always with a smile despite some typical gringo moves made by the group. Martin and the rest of the kitchen/camp staff were amazing keeping us deliciously fed and I was particularly grateful for the special plates made to accommodate my gluten-free needs. I’m also quite thankful for the attention to detail on keeping the banos clean and maintained, no easy task with a large group. To hear all these guys singing and joking with each other every day was another great part of the whole trip.

“You will love their multi-day kayak trips!”
5 of 5 bubblesWe did the Espiritu Santo circumnavigation in early November. Our guide Miguel was fantastic and really knowledgeable about every bird, fish, invertebrate, cloud and rock that we encountered. We also loved assistant guide Benjamin. Our cook Martin prepared fabulous meals and happily accommodated some special diets (vegetarian and gluten free). Our boat captain Chuy kept us safe and got us where we needed to go when we needed to travel by panga. The water temperature was about 85 degree F, and the visibility for snorkeling was fantastic. They provided good instruction for novice kayakers. The winds prevented an entire circumnavigation but no one really minded since the alternative activities were so much fun. All the trip logistics were handled seamlessly. Overall one of our most fun vacations ever. We normally travel on our own (as a couple), not with a group, but on this trip the entire group of 12 people got along just fine. I suspect the sort of person who is attracted to this sort of adventure is someone you will have something in common with.

Another great Mar Y Aventuras excursion! La Paz quarters were A-1! The crew was super and Carlos did just a wonderful job! Food was excellent, water superb, weather was just a touch hot but sure beats smog! Even caught a few fish. Last nights dinner was good too! Our compliments to Mary and Ricardo for selecting and training such a great group of guys! It’s really been fun seeing you two grow your business and we thoroughly enjoy being a part of it. Well … it’s back to ‘re-entry’! Looking forward to next year! Thanks again. Good job … very well done!

I am an operations director at Snowbird Ski and Summer resort and have worked in the resort business for 36 years, having worked at 5 different resorts. Never have I found friendlier/happier employees as those who you and Ricardo have from top to bottom. Roman is obviously outstanding as you know, but I personally was enchanted and made a spiritual connection with your new guide Hugo. He is an outstanding young man who cares deeply for his work, his environment and his guests. But it does not end with those two, Angel, Mingo, Alejandro and all of the hotel staff were exceptional, and I wish I had more time to get to know others such as “Mikey”, but I/we will be back.

Our trip from Loreto to La Paz was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. I wanted another week and was very sad to see it end. I don’t know how you have created such a smooth running group of people but it is  awesome. Our group of men were terrific, Carlos, charming! Easy going, flexible and always cheerful. Alberto, the best cook ever. Our food was wonderful. Valario smiling, helpful, musical. Chuy was so patient. I loved fishing in the morning and he was always there for me. One night he taught me how to jig or line fish for trigger fish. We caught five. Me two, Chuy three….later turned to cerviche. I caught the biggest Sea Bass of the trip and I knew Chuy was excited for me.

I’ve just posted an “excellent” review on TripAdvisor, but wanted to tell you the same, directly. My 15-year-old grandson Christian and I Island Hopped from La Paz to Loreto during his spring break. (I’m pretty sure he told everyone at Boise High that he was going to Mexico, and told no one that he was going with his grandmother!) Our group was diverse in every way — age, gender, nationality, geography — and everyone blended well, helped one another, laughed a lot. Our guides and the “worker bees” set the tone, I think, that made for such inclusion. They were unfailingly accommodating and extremely organized.
