We are open! We are strictly following all local and national safety guidelines, and have a flexible cancellation policy in the event we are unable to operate a trip.
A few things to note:
  1. –Effective December 1, 2021, all guests on our trips or staying at our hotel must be vaccinated. You should bring your vaccination card with you to Mexico.
  2. –Air travel to Mexico is currently available and permitted. There is no requirement for a Covid test or proof of vaccination TO ENTER Mexico.
  3. – A negative Covid test is required 1 day PRIOR TO RE-ENTRY to the US and Canada. There are many testing options in the area and we will advise you based on your departure date and location. We regularly assist guests after the trip to get to a nearby lab in La Paz. Tests are about $40 and results can be emailed to you, or to our office to be printed. Tests are required even if you have been vaccinated. 
  4. – As of January 2022, vaccination rates are 93% in Baja Sur.
  5. – We have been certified by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) for opening our hotel and operating tours. Our hotel and tour staff have all been vaccinated. They have also been trained on most current health and hygiene protocols and enhanced sanitation procedures along with measures to maintain as much physical distance as possible. This is called the Safe Travel Stamp issued by the WTTC. Luckily our tours are naturally outdoors, socially distanced and in small groups!

Cancellation Policy

A full refund will be issued if:

  • – We must cancel a trip due to border restrictions or government shut down of tourism
  • – We cannot meet our minimum numbers required to run the trip

There will be no refund or credit if a client is uncomfortable traveling or is ill prior to traveling.

COVID protocols for our guests:

  • – Only vaccinated travelers may sign up for our trips or stay at our hotel, both for their safety and for the safety of others.
  • – Masks likely will be required around our hotel and many other places in La Paz, as required by current regulations. Please bring several face coverings and always have one on hand for use in public areas.
  • – NEW – All of our crew will be covid tested prior to departing on a trip. If any employee tests positive we will replace them with another employee with negative results.
  • – Each client, guide and crew member will be screened for their temperature each day. If any person’s temperature reads above normal they need to evacuate camp OR isolate until evacuation is possible. This is a government mandate and not at the discretion of our guides.
  • – We are typically not allowed to do buffet style food service at camps. All meals will be served to guests on plates. Please be vocal about your preferences and amounts and we will serve you seconds, or thirds, or omit certain items, etc.
  • – No client is allowed to enter the kitchen tent.
  • – As usual, each client will need to wash their hands prior to eating.

IMPORTANT: There will be no refund or credit if you have to be evacuated from a trip. Your participation in the trip acknowledges that you understand this policy and are willing to leave the trip if deemed necessary. We will accommodate you in our hotel for no charge for the duration of days that you would have been camping.
