Join us for the most extraordinary wildlife encounters and stunning scenery on this journey! This is the ONLY time of year you can combine these extraordinary wildlife phenomenas for the most comprehensive Baja Adventure of all time! Snorkel with whale sharks and sea lions, release sea turtle hatchlings into the ocean and observe Pacific Gray Whales and abundant bird life all while enjoying activities such as sea kayaking, hiking and fishing.

We will bring you to both coasts of Baja including the National Park desert island of Espiritu Santo in the Sea of Cortez as well as the remote shores of Magdalena Bay and Todos Santos on the Pacific Coast. Enjoy 3 nights of camping at each of our lovely beach base camps with walk-in canvas tents complete with 2 comfortable cots, pads and pillows. While camping on the shores of our beach camps you’ll have the opportunity to sea kayak,  hike/walk, snorkel (on Espiritu Santo Island only), bird watch, go fishing and watch whales frolic in front of your tent.

In the middle of the trip you’ll enjoy a lay over day at our hotel in La Paz between camps. On this day we’ll take you on a morning excursion to the whale shark feeding area to observe the world’s largest fish (a toothless, plankton feeding shark). Weather permitting you’ll have the chance to snorkel with these gentle giants. From our Espiritu Santo kayak camp you’ll also have the opportunity to snorkel with sea lions and tropical fish and paddle below the island’s stunning volcanic cliffs. Upon return to La Paz you can enjoy a nice lunch at one of many fine seaside restaurants then we’ll take you to a beach north of Todos Santos to participate in releasing baby sea turtles into the ocean as part of a local turtle conservation organization.

At our Magdalena Bay Camp you’ll observe gray whales up close from locally operated boats twice daily as they frolic in the bay. In many cases you can observe the whales from your tent just in front of our luxury bay view base camp set high on the dunes. Other opportunities for exploring this unique area include paddling among the rich bird life of the mangrove estuaries and beach combing along and coastline of this remote Pacific Barrier Island.

We’ve put this trip together especially for the active, outdoor enthusiast who loves wildlife and wants to interact with as much of it as possible all on one trip to Baja! This truly is a one of a kind, comprehensive Baja journey!

Although we do our best to adhere to the above itinerary, it is subject to change for reasons beyond our control including wildlife unpredictability, weather and port closures. Upon the chance the port is closed and we can not get a group to the island on departure day we will provide a land based activity for this day. Snorkeling with whale sharks is completely weather dependent (calm seas are necessary) and their presence (very likely this time of year). If the weather does not permit us to snorkel with the whale sharks on the day designated for this activity we’ll do our best to try and fit this activity in on another occasion when going to and from ESI).
