Snorkel with whale sharks and sea lions, release sea turtle hatchlings into the ocean, observe Pacific Gray Whales and abundant bird life while enjoying activities such as sea kayaking, hiking and fishing.
Join us for the most extraordinary wildlife encounters and stunning scenery on this journey in Baja! We will bring you to both coasts including the beautiful Espiritu Santo Island in the Sea of Cortez as well as the remote shores of Magdalena Bay and Todos Santos on the Pacific Coast.
Get your snorkel gear ready because on the boat ride to and from Espiritu Santo Island we’ll take you to the whale shark feeding area to observe the world’s largest fish (a toothless, plankton feeding shark). Weather permitting you’ll have the chance to snorkel with this gentle giant. While camping in luxury on a white sand beach at our luxury base camp on Espiritu Santo Island, you’ll have the opportunity to snorkel with sea lions and tropical fish and sea kayak below the island’s stunning volcanic cliffs. As a bonus on late February and early March trips it’s quite possible to enjoy humpback whale sightings as they frequent the waters surrounding Espiritu Santo Island. From La Paz we’ll take you to the beaches north of Todos Santos as you participate in releasing baby turtles into the ocean as part of a local turtle conservation organization.
In Magdalena Bay you’ll observe gray whales up close from locally operated skiffs twice daily as they frolic in the bay or from right in front of our luxury base camp. Other opportunities for exploring this unique area include paddling among the rich bird life of the mangrove estuaries and hiking the dunes and coastline of this remote Pacific Barrier Island.
We’ve put this trip together especially for the active, outdoor enthusiast who loves wildlife and wants to interact with as much of it as possible all on one trip to Baja! This will truly be a one of a kind, comprehensive Baja journey!

Although we do our best to adhere to the above itinerary, it is subject to change for reasons beyond our control including weather. We hope to give everyone at least two excursions to snorkel with the whale sharks in the 3 opportunities we have scheduled for this activity in the above itinerary. This activity is completely weather dependent (calm seas are necessary) so the number of excursions will vary depending on the weather.
